Good looks often run in families, but for the Smith clan, it would appear that so does modeling industry success. With Lucky Blue rising through the ranks to become 2015’s male model du jour and Pyper America showcasing her wide-eyed appeal on the runways for the likes of Moschino and Giorgio Armani, the Smiths look to be on a serious industry takeover. But wait! There’s more of them! Lucky Blue’s big sister, Daisy Clementine, is on the scene, after honing her modeling skills in Los Angeles, where she signed with Next Los Angeles in 2013. Getting signed served not only to kick-start her career but also led to her siblings’ careers—they paid her agency a visit during a family road trip.
Like her famous brother and sister before her, Daisy is blonde, musically inclined, seriously photogenic, and, yes, ready to take on the fashion world. Get to know her here first.
2015 was a big year for your family; how did it impact you?
I think I’ve learned a lot about myself and things that I like to do. I always wanted to be a model and continue to play in a band with my brothers and sisters, but I didn’t know the ins and outs of it. This year I got to understand the day-to-day of being a model and what it takes to succeed.
Tell me about your band, the Atomics.
Modeling is creative, and there are certain things you have control over, but sometimes you are just trying to help bring someone else’s vision to life. Music is more me coming up with what I want to do regarding the sound or lyrics. I can express personal creativity while still working with my family. It’s the biggest thrill to be onstage performing at a show, and I feel so much love for them when we’re playing together. It’s a good outlet because it is something I have more control over, but it is also with my best friends. I’m obsessed with oldies; I listen to a lot of Tom Petty as well. When it comes to newer stuff, I like the Black Keys, and lately I’ve been into Leon Bridges, too. I play guitar, so I like to hear what I play. I enjoy guitar-based music or something with a strong bass line or powerful drums.
